PE Henry chaired the meeting as Club President Kevin is away from Beijing.

Rtn. Charles presented a banner he had received during a recent visit to the RC Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia


Reports & Announcements
Sergeant-at-Arms Gilbert announced that he was troubled to report that a fake RMB100 note was received during the happy money collection last week. He reminded members to try and take care to check the authenticity of their bank notes.

Sergeant-at-Arms Gilbert also announced that he had recently become aware that the US Embassy was taking regular readings of the pollution levels in Beijing. He recommended members to regularly check the US figures on Twitter, particularly if they suffered from bronchial problems.

Club Secretary John announced that due to his elevation to Club President 2009/10, the Board has elected Rtn. Einar Tangen to be the incoming Club Secretary for 2009/10. Rtn. John thanked Rtn. Einar for this service and expressed that he was happy to hand over this responsibility to someone as organized and capable as Rtn. Einar. Rtn. Einar thanked members for their trust in his abilities.

Club Secretary John announced that today was PE Henry’s last meeting before he departs to take up a new position in London. CS John shared many photographs of PE Henry performing different Rotary activities and expressed that he was leaving a big impression on the Club and will be sadly missed by many. CS John thanked PE Henry for his services and fellowship and wished him and his wife Peggy all the very best for their future life in London.

Birthday celebration
A birthday cake was cut by Rtns. Jim, Norbert and Raphael on behalf of themselves and Rtns. Ruby and Bill who all shared a birthday during the month of June.
Rtn. Jim shared his joy and pleasure at being a member of Rotary for almost 30 years. Rtn. Raphael joined him in thanking the Club for their fellowship and good friends that they have made, expressing what an honor it is to be a member of this great club.
