Reports & Announcements
Club President Kevin presented his report on the matters discussed at the recent April Board meeting.
Club Membership Committee Chair Peter chaired the induction ceremony for our new member, Brian Griffin. Club President Kevin assisted with the induction ceremony by placing the Rotary pin on our new member. Brian is sponsored by Rtn. Charles. Brian is an American national and has attended at least 12 of our meetings. He is resident in Beijing where he is the Sales & Marketing Manager of AGS Four Winds International, a leading global relocations firm. Brian has more than 20 years experience in various industries. He previously worked in materials management for Bechtel Power Corp in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA, coordinating materials for a turnkey power plant construction project. In addition to that, since 1999 Brian has been a partner in GRB Investments in Florida, which manages and sells homes. In parallel, since 1998 Brian has been involved with Alex Nichols Agency, International Animal Transportation.
Club President Kevin presented the new “Certificate of Induction” to the Club and gave recently inducted members their Certificate: Rtn, Brian, Rtn. Benjamin and Rtn. Curt.
Rtn. Bunrei made a special donation RMB 1,500 to RCB’s Library project.
Ball Chair Rtn. Arne gave a quick update regarding the Ball ticket booth which is now available at Kempinski Hotel between 11:30 – 14:30. Rtn. Arne added that any member who is unable to attend the Ball is encouraged to make a donation to the library project.
Rtn. Ruby gave an update about the VIP reception which is to be held on the evening before the ball (May 22rd) which is wholly sponsored by the new Marriott Beijing Hotel. This is an INVITATION ONLY function that will only be available for selected VIP guests and members who buy ball tickets. For more information members are asked to contact Rtn. Ruby.
